Service Description: <div style='text-align:left;'><div><div><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span>Cartographic map elements used for SFWMD standard map templates. Includes line and polygon features for state, water management district, and county areas and a half degree latitude/longitude grid covering South Florida.</span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span></span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span style='text-decoration:underline;'>Generalized Coast Features</span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span>This is a standard set of county, WMD, coastline and offshore polygon boundaries for Florida, with generalized coastlines at 1M scale. It can be used for index maps or maps that do not require detailed shorelines. The linework is primarily from the "original, official" set of lines that were adopted for statewide use in the 1990s, with slight modifications. Includes the NOAA 3-nm "nearshore" boundary and the NOAA 12-nm "offshore" boundary. </span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span></span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span style='text-decoration:underline;'>Detailed Shoreline Features</span></p><p style='font-size:12pt;'><span>This is a standard set of WMD boundaries, with detailed shoreline at approximately 40K scale and offshore boundaries for Florida. The interior WMD boundaries are primarily from the "original, official" set of lines that were adopted for statewide use in the 1990s, with slight modifications. Includes the NOAA 3-nm "nearshore" boundary and the NOAA 12-nm "offshore" boundary. </span></p><p><span style='font-size:16px;'><u>SFWMD Buffer and County Buffer Areas</u></span></p><p></p><p><span style='font-size:16px;'>These are used in map, geoprocessing, and feature services for SFWMD software applications. The county buffer is produced from the AdminBndy3 feature class from the NAVTEQ dataset. Islands were removed to produce a one polygon per county feature class. Also, a 5 Mile buffer has been added to the shorelines. The feature class includes County names and County FIPS. The SFWMD buffer area feature class has a single polygon representing the jurisdictional extent of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) with a buffered coastline. </span></p></div></div><div style='font-size:12pt;'><br /></div></div>
