Service Description: Information is categorized by drilled depth, and for wells with monitoring data, by aquifer and monitoring activity status.
The web layer is created daily using an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) on the SFWMD wrep Oracle database view "DMDBASE.WELL_MAP_ROLLUP_VW ". Fields for the County, Water Supply Planning Region, Watershed, and Water Management District are added by spatial join based on location coordinates. The well stations inventory in south Florida is available for viewing through this mapping application based on those stations for which a station entry has been made in the SFWMD DBHYDRO database. The locations are where wells have been installed, or boreholes drilled, by the SFWMD, United States Geological Survey (USGS), United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), state, county and local government agencies, utilities and oil & gas companies for various purposes. Multiple GIS layers have been created to allow customized well location maps to be developed based on water supply planning region, county, agency, purpose, active or inactive status, and by aquifer system or specific aquifer within the aquifer system. Each well location is linked to its corresponding station in DBHYDRO where a variety of data and information, in addition to water level and quality, may be available such as well construction and depths, hydrostratigraphy, geophysical and lithologic logs, aquifer performance tests, and technical reports. DMDBASE.WELL_MAP_ROLLUP_VW consolidates information from multiple database tables, some of which for performance reasons are refreshed nightly, to produce the map view. Therefore, some information may be up to 24 hours old. Note: Only a subset of wells from the SFWMD regulatory database have information in DBHYDRO.
