Description: This dataset represents rain gauges in Southern Florida for which data is available in DBHydro, after 1995, including those used in calibrating the SFWMD NEXRAD radar gridded rainfall estimates. This rain gauge data set is derived from the database view dmdbase.nexrad_rain_gages_vw which includes rain gauges status (active and inactive) and whether or not the rain gauge is used for NEXRAD calibration. Active gauges are defined as those which the end date falls within the past six months, while inactive gauges are those whose data records ended prior to that threshold. The NEXRAD Radar Rainfall application provides users with the ability to retrieve gridded rainfall estimates for varied spatial and temporal aggregations in both tabular and image formats.
